I walked through while my husband swept the kitchen. He told me be careful not to step in the pile of trash that he had swept up. It consisted of dust, dog hair and crumbs that had been dropped on the kitchen floor.
As he said that, I thought about how we frequently we step in the everyday piles of trash - anger, gossip, bitterness. If we could only learn to avoid those piles of trash, our lives would be more simple and happier.
